Our Experience in Professional Grave Care

Experience Rooted in Real Families, Real Cemeteries, and Real Work

We are the Manilov brothers. Long before Tending existed as a professional grave care service, we spent years working inside the cemetery and memorial industry. Through our parent company, All Funeral Services, we’ve supported hundreds of cemeteries across the United States, helping them modernize records, maps, and day-to-day operations.

That work gave us a unique perspective: families deeply care about their loved ones’ resting places — but modern life often makes it hard to show that care in person or perform the work correctly.

People move across states. They age. They work full-time. They raise children and care for their own parents. Travel can be expensive, time-consuming, or physically difficult. For many, the practical ability to visit and maintain the grave often isn’t there. For others, the work itself is daunting or unfamiliar.

The love is there. The desire is there. But the practical ability, professional skill, or available time often isn’t.

What Many Families Don’t Realize

Headstones and memorials need regular, professional care, much like a cherished home or a garden. Without consistent memorial maintenance, they naturally accumulate:

  • Seasonal dirt and debris.
  • Moss, lichen, or mineral buildup that can permanently damage stone.
  • Overgrown grass and invasive plants.
  • Fading or hard-to-read inscriptions.
  • Slow tilting or shifting that requires attention.
  • Chips, cracks, and loose joints.

Most people only notice the changes during a rare visit — and it can be a painful or stressful surprise. They may also worry about accidentally damaging the stone with improper cleaning methods.

Proven Experience

Before launching Tending in the U.S., our team also helped build and refine similar grave care services in Europe. These established programs now perform dozens of professional visits every day, using:

  • Standardized methods for safe headstone cleaning.
  • Trained specialists who understand cemetery protocol.
  • Clear before-and-after photo reports.

Our focus isn’t on geography — it’s on learning what works to protect and honor memorials, and doing it with consistency, respect, and accountability.

  • Training standards for our field specialists.
  • Quality checks, documentation, and clear communication.
  • A reliable, tested way to care for memorials when families cannot, should not, or do not want to be there themselves.

Your loved one’s grave is not being cared for by amateurs. We’re applying years of work, training, and responsibility to a very human need: keeping memory alive — professionally and respectfully.
